Her first smile

I donno when usually an infant first smiles............but Akshara smiled the third day after she was born! It was the most beautiful sight for me and Arvind. Although elders say that a baby smiles looking at his/ her parents face only in the 3rd month. An infant smiles while he/she is asleep. There are a lot of theories to it: Some say that god is showing them a lotus and they smile and when he takes it away frm them they cry. Others say that when the squirrel threatens them that they would hit their father they smile and it threatens to hit the mother they cry. Strange are these stories and we ourselves begin to think of what exactly is my baby dreaming about????

Babies in their frist three months would only have their feed and sleep. Akshara was no exception, the only diff being that she would do almost all the activities earlier than predicted. She like all others took immense pleasure in talking to her buddies.....guess who??? none other than the lights, fan and the curtains. Whenever the curtain blew in the wind, she would giggle and do her goo goo gaa gaas. Admiring her own hands is the next stage. Akshara was and is still a talkative baby----yapping is in her blood i guess.....donno someday she would start blogging like me :)

our princess - Akshara

When Akshara - our princess came into our lives

Hi all...this is my first posting out here and hope this is useful for all the to be mommies.

When my husband and i came to know that i was pregnant, that was the happiest moment in our lives ( its the same kinda feeling for all ...but its a wonderful feeling). The 10 months went passed real fast.....and as my due date was nearing (Sept 11 in my case!!!) i had so many questions arising in my mind- how will the labor pains begin? will it be very painful? will i be able to bear the pain? will my baby be fine? will i have a normal delivery? ...so on and so forth.

For all the to be mommies i would suggest...long , brisk walks, sit down and eat your food, sit down and get up. These activities helped me during my delivery. So as my due date was nearing my husband watched my tummy.....but then i did not see any signs of pain. My mom did not even remember how the pain was for her and she wld just say "you will experience on your own, i donno how to tell you". And then i was told by my doc to get admitted in the hospital, as she was gonna induce the pain for me.

For all those who get stomach crunches during your periods will be able to bear the labor pains to some extent. Actually the labor pains will start like those stomach crunches only and then later turn into bigger pains. When you get the pains real fast and you get an urge to shit.....you should know that your bundle of joy will arrive anytime.

Luckily i had my labor pain only for one hour ( follow my tips and it will prove helpful ). As soon as i got my pains i was rushed into the labor room. {Suggestion: Please do go to the loo and piss before you go to the labor room otherwise you would develop urinary infection and wld take time to recover. } My doctor was an angel, the care she took during that time cannot be explained. My parents and my hubby were waiting outside the labor room. I cld feel my husband praying for me and the baby to be fine. I went into labour at 7:30 p.m. and my daughter was born at 8: 40 p.m.

Our princess was born and guess what ????? she is the first grandaughter in my husband's side. Among 8 grandchildren...she is the only girl...My husband shouted loud....i am gonna name her 'Akshara'.

Check out her pic as soon as she was born....our princess -'Akshara'.
